Course Objectives：
柏谷健二教授具有湖泊沉積、與行星軌道相關之氣候循環、磁化率與地表沉積、湖泊沉積與氣候震盪等領域之研究專長，他將帶領修課同學深入了解湖泊沉積特性及相關分析方法，同時增長國際視野。
Instrumental observation with sedimentary records in the present period. Reconstruction of past environment with sedimentary information and documents based on understanding processes in the historical period. Clarification of environmental changes with cosmic-solar and orbital fluctuations and sedimentary memory in the pre-historical period. In this course, lake catchment studies of various scales are introduced to develop the above-mentioned idea; especially, long-term information on environmental changes and processes in large lake-catchment systems are discussed and interpreted through the present instrumental observations in small systems. This study also constitutes an attempt to establish the basis of limno-geomorphology.
