This presentation examines two distinct approaches to spatial and temporal analysis: remote sensing-based land use classification and human activity modelling using time-use data. At the macro level, remote sensing provides insights into land use changes, urban expansion, and environmental dynamics, enabling large-scale monitoring of spatial-temporal transformations. At the micro level, time-use data offers a detailed understanding of individual activity patterns, mobility behaviours, and spatial-temporal constraints, providing a nuanced view of human interactions with space and time. These perspectives offer valuable insights into environmental and behavioural dynamics, contributing to research in geography, urban planning, environmental monitoring, and policy implications.
