[演講公告]Monitoring crustal deformation with geodetic techniques for seismotectonic researches

Monday, June 24, 2019, 10:30 - 12:00
Location Room 202, the Geography Department Building, NTU
講者: 西村卓也 (Takuya Nishimura)教授(日本京都大學防災研究所)
演講大綱:

The crustal deformation is attributed to tectonic processes occurred in the Earth. Data of geodetic measurements are used to clarify these processes and their mechanisms. Thanks to space geodetic techniques (i.e., GNSS and InSAR) developed in recent three decades, high resolution geodetic data in time and space enabled us to deepen our understanding of plate tectonics, earthquake, volcanic eruption, subsurface rheological structure and so on. In this talk, I briefly review some geodetic studies in Japan. Introduction of two topics on slow earthquakes and deformation paradox with geodetic and geological time scales are also included.
