The Department of Geography at National Taiwan University (NTU) seeks to fill a tenure-track or tenured position at all ranks beginning in August 2018. We recruit scholars with the PhD degree in Geography or Spatial Informatics whose research complements strengths in the Department in environmental monitoring, urban and regional development or spatial sciences. Applicants whose research interests in geospatial big data analytics, geo-computation, urban sensing and computing and/or other related fields are preferred. We also encourage applicants who are specialized in these aforementioned subjects with a strong background in computer engineering or statistics. We expect the candidate to contribute to the department tradition of collaborative integration across physical and social sciences, and facilitate to growth of an interdisciplinary and cross-department research network at NTU. Successful candidates will demonstrate a capacity to carry out collaborative research with colleagues in Geography and other departments. For more information about the Department, please see

Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree at the time of application. Those who finish their study program, including the Ph.D. dissertation requirement, and expect to graduate by May 2018, but do not yet get the diploma can be considered as a qualified candidate, only on the condition with a confirmation from his/her Ph.D. adviser. Applicants should be proficient in lecturing in either English or Mandarin Chinese. To apply please submit the following materials in a package by December 20, 2017: (1) a letter of application describing how he/she would contribute to the Department’s teaching and research programs; (2) a curriculum vitae; (3) a copy of PhD diploma; (4) a complete publication list; (5) recent selected publications (published after 2012) and a representative work (published after 2014); (6) three reference letters. The applicant should be the first and/or corresponding author for the representative paper, which should be published in an SCI, SSCI indexed journal or refereed book/book chapter.
